This Easter weekend was much more relaxed than the Easter weekend
that we had two years ago, when someone broke into our home and stole, among other items, the hard boiled eggs that I had prepared for dyeing. The eggs were safe this year....from burgulars, at least.
 |
Yes, I arranged the pictures on here to make it APPEAR that
they colored eggs together when, in fact, they didn't
because I had myself a lazy Saturday afternoon
Katie went to a party Saturday night!
Party on, Katie! |
The next day, the Easter Bunny came, as expected. We've made it a tradition in our family to pretend we are ghosts before looking at our Easter baskets. You know, keeping in theme with "The Resurrection"!
Too much? (
Well, you ain't read nothin' yet!) Okay, they were
really hiding under their blankets so we could let the dog out because he doesn't "do well" when excitement is about to ensue. And Lord almighty, did excitement indeed ensue?!
The Easter Bunny seems to know JUST what little girls want!
And hides eggs in the same place every year really well!
It was then time for a true miracle to occur! Wait for it.....
OUR ENTIRE FAMILY WENT TO CHURCH!
Too bad I don't have a picture of us, huh? I would have if
the dress I had picked out didn't make me look like I was pregnant I wasn't in such a hurry to get us all ready.
But alas, we made it to
the concert church. I'm quite sure this is the first time I've been to church with Tim in at least six years. We have a good record going here. While I'm not fond of the
rock show contemporary service that our church holds (during the sixth and final song, I caught myself saying, "Oh, God, not another song!") Katie and Tim enjoyed it. My friend/neighbor that went with us enjoyed it too. Elise and her friend went to their regular Sunday School class. Thank goodness for Elise; she makes up for Katie, Tim and myself by attending church on a regular basis. With another one of our neighbors. Who takes her with her nearly every Sunday. Without us. Nearly every Sunday. Did I say that already? OKAY!!! We'll
try to go to church as a family more often! GOD!
We then headed out for a traditional Easter Brunch; Chili's, with our good friends/neighbors. While I contemplated ordering six margaritas, Elise and her best friend entertained themselves in the corner of the booth by taking pictures of themselves
I
COULD attach the 368 other pictures that they took of themselves on here but they all look like this so....yeah.
We went out for yogurt and ran into another friend of Elise's and her family. After I said that we had been to church, the mother of Elise's friend
came to and then inquired if the church was "giving out money." Very funny, Nicole! May God have mercy on your soul! (I'm going to start using quotes like this on here now that I'm all holy and shit!)
We finished off our Easter Sunday with a good old fashioned, two person Easter egg hunt at our friends/neighbors (and fellow new worshiper's) house
I tried to get them to hug, like Jesus and his friend probably did around this time on Easter. I won't write on here what their reply was, seeing that I'm a church goer now. But I think, from the look on our friend's face, that you understand how they felt about that!
Geez, ya'll! WWJD?
